The complete range of MG and 3PG resistor banks are made from Carpenter 316 Stainless Steel, which defies rust and corrosion.
A high impedance to earth is ensured by double insulation from grid to tie rod and the mounting endplate. The adjacent grids on a bank are argon-welded together to render them totally independent of rod pressure, with heavy duty ceramic insulators at the grid ends and endplates.
Each grid on the bank is identical with a continuous connection along the assembly, with a tapping point on every alternate grid.
3PG-3 PHASE MILLBANK RESISTOR
3PG RESISTOR BANKS are identical in dimensions, materials, and construction to the standard type of MG Bank.
They only differ in that they contain three electrically separate sections.
Type 3PG resistor banks are ideal slip resistors for small to medium slip-ring motors, with closed-loop thyristor control, such as AC10. A NEMA 90 continuous thermal rating would be standard for this class of control, for which stability of resistance is the essential property.
